Abstract: This short course gives an introduction to the field of interferometric optical testing. Topics covered include basic interferometers for optical testing, concepts of phase-shifting interferometry, including error analysis, long wavelength interferometry, testing of aspheric surfaces, measurement of surface microstructure, and the state-of-the-art of direct phase measurement interferometers.

Abstract: This short course gives an introduction to the field of interference and interferometry. Topics covered include basic classical interferometers, coherence and source requirements, diffraction gratings and zone plates, holography, speckle interferometry, and phase-shifting interferometry.
