Description |
This telescope has a round parallel cardboard barrel, covered in hand-painted red leather or paper with fruit-plant and floral designs. The single objective lens is non-achromatic. The objective lens cell and screw-on cap are made of turned horn. It has three cardboard draws, covered in vellum, with hand-painted floral and geometric designs. None of the draws have retention. The first and second draws have protective rings of horn on their ocular ends, but the ring on the barrel is missing. The three lens eyepiece system is contained in the smallest draw, at the end of which is a horn ocular extension. It is not signed by the maker. |
