Description |
This telescope has a round parallel nickel-silver barrel, covered with baleen (a flat, flexible material, made of keratin, obtained from the jaws of baleen whales). The objective lens is an achromatic doublet with a push-on cap. It has seven nickel-silver draws, a four lens eyepiece, and a flared eyecup with a sliding cover. It is signed "Cary London" on the smallest draw, with the eyecup to the right. "Adjusting Tube" is engraved on the next to the smallest draw. Also, "J.H v Post" is engraved on the face of the eyecup. |
