Description |
This telescope has a round parallel brass barrel, covered with red wool fabric (a replacement for the original covering), with "turk's head" knots added at both ends. It has an extendable shade, and the objective lens cover, of unknown configuration, is missing. The objective is an achromatic doublet. It has one draw and a four lens eyepiece, but the fourth lens, the eye lens, is missing. The terminal portion of the bulbous style eyecup and its slide are also missing. It is signed "Dollond London Achromatic Night" on the draw, with the eyecup to the right. |
