Description |
This 1X inverting telescope is used to measure elevation using the inscribed brass protractor. The entire telescope is constructed of wood, possibly fruitwood. The lens caps and lens retaining rings are threaded wood. A sighting crosshair is located in the removable wood block. This block can be translated to focus the crosshair reticle. The body of the telescope is square in profile, and the objective is mounted in a square draw that can be extended for focusing. The instrument is not signed but is attributed to G. H. Brander. | |||||
