Description |
This brass compound microscope is mounted on a wooden base. It has two triangular-shaped flat pillars and pivots on trunnions attached to the stage. The limb is cylindrical and the body tube screws into the bar attached to it. There is only coarse focusing, with a rack and pinion that moves the telescoping upper part of the limb. The objective screws into the bottom of the body tube and the Huygenian-type two lens eyepiece slips into the top. On top of the square stage is a transverse bar, holding the spring clips, one of which is missing. All the substage parts are missing, including the mirror. There are no accessories or case and the maker is not identified. |
